Elie Haddad is president of the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut, Lebanon, which serves the Arabic-speaking church throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Haddad was born and raised in Lebanon and immigrated to Canada towards the end of the Lebanese Civil War in 1990. He comes from a business background and worked for 15 years in Toronto in Information Systems and Management consulting. He was also active in his local church, Middle East Baptist Church in Mississauga, as a member of the pastoral team. During his time in Toronto, he enrolled in the Masters of Theological Studies (MTS) program at Tyndale Seminary.

After 15 years, God called Haddad and his wife, Mireille, back to Lebanon. Haddad was appointed as Global Field Staff with Canadian Baptist Ministries to serve as provost of the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2008, he became the school’s president.

Haddad studies and speaks on Missional Ecclesiology - how local churches share Christ with the community. He is currently finishing his PhD on this subject. Haddad is passionate about equipping leaders for missional-incarnational ministry in the Arab world. As the Middle East/North Africa region struggles with political instability, violence, and extremism, he believes it is critical that the Church becomes skilled in engaging its volatile context with the message of God's Good News in new and innovative ways.
